Rajaji Tiger Reserve Safari
Rajaji National park has various safari zones. Some are situated around Haridwar city and some near Dehradun.
Zones near to Haridwar city are very popular among tourists due to its habitat in Ganga belt. It has mainly four Safari Zones (Chilla, Jhilmil, Motichur, Ranipur) in order to manage and balance the number of tourists. While Dehradun has Asarori and Mohand entries. Activities such as Jungle Safari (on Gypsy), Bird Watching, half day visit, full day visits can be done. Visitors can choose any of following Safari zones for their wild life experience. Ranipur and Jhilmil zones are about 15 km from Haridwar city, while Chilla and Motichur are 12 and 9 km from Haridwar City. All four zones are near Haridwar city.

April 20th 2015, The wildlife enthusiasts have a reason to cheer. The state Government after a long wait of about 30 years, has at last issued the final notification for the Rajaji National Park which consists of 9 ranges and is spread over 820.40 sq.km. of Haridwar, Pauriand Dehradun districts of Uttarakhand. The initial notification for the setting up of the Park under the Project Elephant was issued in 1983. However the final notification could not be issued since various hurdles had to be cleared. It may be recalled here that the Park, which marks the northern limits of the Asiatic elephant, is one of the safest heavens for jumbos in the country. At present, there are about 415 elephants in the Park and the male, female ratio is excellent.

On 15th April 2015 Rajaji is finally notified as 48th Tiger Reserve of country that covers an area of 1075. 17 sq. km. There were three sanctuary: Rajaji Sanctuary, Motichur Sanctuary, Chilla Sanctuary.

Rajaji National Park established on 12th August 1983 with an area of 820.42 sq. km. is located in tie pictorials hill of Shivalik Foothills of the Himalayas. It is spread over three district of Uttarakhand, i.e. Haridwar, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal.
BIODIVERSITY
The unique habitat and rich biodiversity of the Park attraction for Nature lovers, birders as well as photographers. Uttarakhand state now has two Tiger Reserves, Corbett Tiger Reserve and Rajaji Tiger Reserve.
