Rajaji Tiger Reserve
Rajaji National park has various safari zones. Some are situated around Haridwar city and some near Dehradun. Yet zones near to Haridwar city are very popular among tourists due to its habitat in Ganga belt. It has mainly four Safari Zones (Chilla, Jhilmil, Motichur, Ranipur) in order to manage and balance the number of tourists. Visitors can choose any of following Safari zones for their wild life experience. Ranipur and Jhilmil zones are about 15 km from Haridwar city, while Chilla and Motichur are 12 and 9 km from Haridwar City. All four zones are in four different direction of city. Now 2 new zones Chilla (Andheri) and Motichur (Satyanarayan) also available for Jungle Safari.

CHILLA ZONE
The Chilla Tourism Zone is a popular zone with its entry gate on the National Highway 58. Named after the Chilla tree which was once found in abundance here offers jeep safaris, elephant rides and bird watching. The forest rest houses at Chilla and Kunnao fall in this zone. A 36km driving circuit in this zone is very popular amongst the visitors. The loop from the entry gate to Mundal sot to the Mundal (tam and machan to Chilla takes about three hours.

JHILMIL ZONE
A marshy grassland, the southern part of Chilla, is the conservation reserve for Swamp Deer. It is only area where you can found Swamp deer in Uttarkhand and west Uttar Pradesh. Now very popular for Birds also. November to March is perfect time to view migrated birds. Tiger, Leopard, Elephant, wild board, 4 types of deer also found in this area

RANIPUR ZONE
The Motichur Tourism zone may be accessed from the Motichur entry gate on the National Highway 58. The FRH is close to this gate. A drive to the Koelpura chaur is approximately 5km. The forest chowki built in 1934 and the machan at the Koelpura chaur are worth spending time. Danda machan and back through the mixed sal forest is a good drive.
An alternate drive from the chaur to Chatrasal machan and back to the chaur is also very good.

MOTICHUR ZONE
The Motichur Tourism zone may be accessed from the Motichur entry gate on the National Highway 58. The FRH is close to this gate. A drive to the Koelpura chaur is approximately 5km.
